Biblical Symbolism
One key to a better understanding of God’s word involves the correct interpretation of symbolic language, allegories, metaphors, riddles, parables, and figurative speech because these are used throughout the Bible. Christ confirmed that he used figurative speech during his ministry.
These things I (Christ) have spoken to you in figurative language; but the time is coming when I will no longer speak to you in figurative language, but I will tell you plainly about the Father (John 16:25; cf. 1Corinthians 4:6; Ed. note in parenthesis; emphasis added; NKJV used throughout unless otherwise noted).
Contrary to the teaching that parables are used to make it easier to understand God’s word, Christ confirmed that very few are meant to understand God’s use of symbolic language during “this present evil age” (cf. Galatians 1:4).
Then his disciples asked him, saying, “What does this parable mean?” And he said, “To you it has been given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God, but to the rest it is given in parables, that ‘Seeing they may not see, and hearing they may not understand.’ (Luke 8:9-10).
For many are called, but few are chosen (during this present evil age) (Matthew 22:14; cf. 1Corinthians 1:26-28; Ed. note in parenthesis; emphasis added).
Narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life (everlasting), and there are few who find it (during this present evil age) (Matthew 7:14; cf. Luke 12:32; Ed. notes in parentheses; emphasis added).
However “the few”, who trust and obey God’s word, can have a better understanding of the symbolic language used throughout the Bible. These will be the people who are in constant remembrance of God’s plan of salvation because they know that the road map laying this out is central to God’s Holy Days, per the following link, and they faithfully observe these appointed times every year: https://www.onetruthonelaw.com/the-holy-days.html
The good news is that a time is coming in the future when everyone who has ever lived will plainly understand God’s plan for mankind, which has always been contained within in His word.
No more shall every man teach his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’ for they all shall know Me, from least of them to the greatest of them, says the Lord. For I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin I will remember no more (Jeremiah 31:34; cf. Isaiah 11:9; 54:13; emphasis added).
And it shall come to pass after (this present evil age) that I (Almighty God) will pour out My Spirit on all flesh… (Joel 2:28; Ed. notes in parentheses; emphasis added).
